We Partnered Up!
We’re excited to partner with Oak & Ivy Learning to bring their weekly curriculum to life through hands-on art at Summer’s Art Studio & Gallery.

Each week, students will work on a project inspired by what they are currently learning through Oak & Ivy. We will alternate between History and Science, giving students a creative way to explore their lessons and better remember what they’ve learned.
​
Classes are divided by age and offered at two different times. Space is limited and registration is first come, first served. You may pay by the day or 4-weeks at a time.

2:00 PM - Kindergarten
A hands-on class created especially for our youngest Oak & Ivy learners! Kindergarten students will explore their weekly History and Science lessons through age-appropriate art, building, and creative projects designed to make learning fun and memorable.
3:15 PM - Kindergarten
Our second Kindergarten group offers the same hands-on experience, bringing Oak & Ivy's History and Science curriculum to life through projects and activities.
2:00 PM - 2nd-4th Grade
Students will take their Oak & Ivy lessons beyond the books with hands-on projects connected to their weekly curriculum. We'll alternate between History & Science using art to reinforce their weekly lessons.
3:15 PM - 5th-8th Grade
Designed for older students, this class connects Oak & Ivy's weekly History and Science curriculum with more advanced creative projects. Students will explore concepts through art and hands-on learning.

History:

Vikings- Make vintage maps with wax seals and illustrations.
Columbus - Paint an expedition through the sea.
Indigenous Peoples of North America - Build small boats, test their designs, and race them — combining history, engineering, and hands-on problem solving.
The 1600s- Historic signboards, design and paint a period-inspired shop or trade sign using symbols, lettering, and visual communication.

Science:

Field Art & Observation - Science journal with nature materials, observational drawing, labeling, texture, and collected material inspiration.
Adaptations - Illustrate how organisms adapt to environments through form, function, and visual comparison.
Rivers & Culture - Explore how rivers shape settlement, movement, resources, and culture through a final visual project.
Nature Watercolor - Watercolor + salt, experiment with resist-like textures, color movement, and natural forms.
